How far away is Liberty from Black Mountain?

I'm going in TP (with Noah Amedick), Informative, and probably a couple of limited preps (unless the tournament next week makes me decide I never want to do a limited prep event ever again...). :D

According to Google Maps, it's 4 hours and 3 minutes. (Of course, Google Maps isn't exactly known for being incredibly accurate...)

Limited preps are amazing. You should do them even if you don't like them at first-- they're excellent preparation for debate speeches, if nothing else. Doing limited preps forces you to think on your feet and helps you to refine your skills.

Also, don't forget guys, registration is on Monday. ;) And remember that it fills up fast! Make sure that you're sitting at your computer ten minutes before. #oldadvice :)

It's about 3.5-4 hours.

Really wish we could make it to the tournament ...

I'll be coming in TP (with the illustrious Jacob Beaver), Impromptu, Extemp, and anything else I feel like adding.

Pearson/Russell will be in attendance, and I'll be competing in impromptu as well as possibly extemp.

So...I need some advice. My mom says she needs to know what events I want to do by lunch time (so in the next 2-3 hours). I know I am going to do TP and Informative. I was planning on doing 1-2 limited prep events as well. Since I'm doing all three at my first tournament this weekend, I was going to choose whichever one(s) I liked best. However, since registration is tonight, I have to choose now. So, I have a couple questions for y'all. 1) Would you recommend that I do one limited prep or two limited preps? 2) Which one(s)?

If it really sounds daunting I'd just pick impromptu since Apol came take more time.

We had a whole bunch of trouble registering also. My mom did it for me, and it didn't go through until 1:15. Also, she got really worried that I wouldn't get into Impromptu, so she ended up registering me for all three limited prep events. It's going to be interesting to see what happens....

I registered in extemp, impromptu, and TP. Should be awesome!

My little sister is also being forced to do extemp at NC. ;) And yeah, we had a difficult time with registration too, we probably finished at 12:10 or so.
