If you were writing resolutions for PITOC what would they be? I'll float one.

Overturning Obamacare helps Democrats more than Republicans.

Resolved: That the Opposition should win this round.

No, really. I'd really love to see how this would be argued, preferably in an outround.

Whoa. You just wrinkled my brain.

If I were government I could try to argue that the universe is inherently a flawed unjust place and although the Opp should win this round, they will not. If I can prove that the present universe is more unjust than just, the Opp should win, but won't.

Or I would just K the resolution and hope for the best.

Or I would argue that the resolution is a metaphor and insert how some statistical minority should win. And I would prep like 20 T answers.

Just for fun, at one of our cross-town scrimmages with the local community college, I suggested "Resolved, that my opponent's mother is less attractive than my mother." We laughed about the possibilities, but didn't actually use it.

"THS substantially reform its position on the Zombie Task Force."

I can't remember the exact wording of the rez used at Christian college nats.

Actually, you should win, because that's an epic strategy. Of course, since the strategy is flawed (as I just pointed out, it's strength is its weakness), perhaps opp does deserve to win :P

::EDIT:: You could just argue so terribly that the judges are convinced opp should win -- but they will still have to vote for you because you convinced them the resolution was true ;)

I saw this resolution and thought "The opposition" should be fined as the opposition Kadima party in the Israeli Knesset, and "this round" is the platform struggle with the majority Likud party on Palestinian self-governance. (Kadima supports sovereignty for the PLO, where as the Likud more or less doesn't.)
