Well I would love to know who was protected/who almost died, that would at least give us some info. Also I think lynching someone N1 would be a mistake with no discussion proceeding it...but then again it would basically making N2 N1, which would stink. So... I'll vote this_is_n8_speech for now to tie things up. And hope for more info later on.

All right, I'll out myself. I am the doctor and saved myself last night.

Having said that, I won't fault JustM.e for his hilarious reaction by auto-voting me. But it is telling he (a) won't defend himself (b) is voting against me just for pointing a FOS and (c) won't give us an investigate result when he claimed to be an investigate. Though I don't see any counter-claims, and it'd be foolish to vote the investigate claim D1.

It is also intriguing the maf attacked me when I initially placed a FOS on Justin in the thread N1. Circumstantial evidence against Justin, to be sure, but mounting circumstantial evidence. As much as I'd hate to have N2 just be N1 all over again, I don't think the case against Justin is strong enough yet.

Justin, please disclose whether you are really the investigate or not, and if so, what result you got.

Voting Nobody. We have a claim for the doctor, no counter-claim (yet?) and no info from an investigate.

Unvoting this_is_n8_speech. Voting No one and thanks Evan for claiming. If no one counter-claims doc you pretty much confirmed good and if someone does either you or them is maf.

All right investigate, now's a pretty good time to out and let us know your results. Unless Mr. E. Was it in which case we're left blind.

He told me last night that he was a townsperson (or, two nights ago real-time), so I think the investigate should still be out there.

Extending the day phase because of all the regionals.

Good news: investigate has claimed to me in private. He investigated me N1 and found me good. I mean, he could just be maf and claiming to have investigated me, who is for all intents and purposes confirmed good. But at this point I won't be so paranoid...yet.

Bad news: we still have no clue who to vote for. And at this point, I don't think a random vote would help us. The odds are still tilted pretty heavily town, with 5-2 margins. Let's explore the scenarios:

Town randomly votes a maf: 5-1 margins heading into night, 4-1 next day (assuming my protect is incorrect). Obvious best case scenario.
Town randomly votes townie: 4-2 margin heading into night, 3-2 next day (assuming incorrect protection). This makes it mandatory we kill a mafia via lynch next day.
Town no votes: 5-2 margins heading into night, 4-2 next day (you know the drill). This is still quite manageable and gives investigate another day to root out a maf. Even if he finds another townie the number of possible suspects is reduced.

The only way to benefit via random vote is if we just so happen to find a maf. But with 5-2, we only have a 2/7 = 28.6% chance of finding one. Let's no vote again then.

No one

I agree with Evan. Voting No one

On a side note, thanks to Hammy for extending the day period out because of tournaments. It is much appreciated.

My pleasure, and congratulations!

I'll let discussions go however late into the night and switch phases tomorrow morning.

It is indeed late into the night at the moment, so I probably won't get an answer before tomorrow, but has this mysterious benefactor said anything about an investigate result from night two? Whether innocent or guilty, a confirmed name would be useful.
