Around 4,000 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), nearly four millennia before the adventures of Luke Skywalker, the galaxy far far away faces a grave threat in the form of Darth Malak and the Star Forge.

Darth Malak, an evil Sith Lord, is using the power of an ancient factory, the Star Forge, to manufacture an army to combat the Republic. While the Republic’s forces fight valiantly, they cannot stand up to an infinite number of enemies. As planet after planet succumbs to the Sith Empire’s advances, the Republic’s odds grow thinner with each passing day.

But there is hope. Darth Malak’s former master is assembling a Party of heroes, determined to save the galaxy. In order to do so, they must acquire all the Star Maps, scattered across four planets. These will tell them the Star Forge’s location, and allow them to defeat Malak.

But while these heroes share a common goal in defeating Malak, the path afterwards… is far less clean cut. Some among the Party believe that no one should possess a weapon like the Star Forge, others believe that the Star Forge’s power could be harnessed for themselves. But they all know that, no matter what happens, the fate of the galaxy, the Star Forge, and even their very own lives, all rest in the hands of their fearless leader.

Can they make him see the light?

Or will they cloud his vision with darkness?

Welcome to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic!

This game, released 12 years ago, is still one of the most highly-acclaimed RPGs in gaming history. It received praise for being one of the most immersive gaming experiences, allowing players to make their own choices and adventures, with player choices greatly influencing the outcome of the game's story.

I, personally, am a huge fan. As a Star Wars geek, and an RPG lover, this game is still probably my favorite I've ever played. My goal is to allow y'all to enjoy some of the qualities that made this game so successful. This is not your traditional mafia game. In fact, it's hardly a mafia game at all. But I've put a lot of work into making it a fun experience for all those participating. I hope you enjoy!

Rules and Objectives
WARNING: This game isn't your ordinary mafia game. Please read the rules. If you have questions that I haven't preemptively answered below, please ask below me.

Affiliations (Every character will have an affiliation)
Light Side Hero -
You're a good guy. You want to destroy the Star Forge for the good of the galaxy.

Dark Side Hero -
I mean, you're alright. You're down for saving the galaxy. But why throw away all that power afterwards?

Neutral -
You're in this for you. What that means... you decide.

Villain -
You're bad to the bone. You serve Malak and want to see his Sith Empire dominate the galaxy... at all cost.

NOTE: Everyone will know everyone else's affiliations.

Winning (Win Conditions depend on your affiliation)

Light Side Hero -
1. You must convince Revan to follow the Light Side of the Force
2. You must defeat Malak
3. You must survive

Dark Side Hero -
1. You must convince Revan to follow the Dark Side of the Force
2. You must defeat Malak
3. You must survive

Neutral -
1. You must fulfill your personal win condition
2. You must survive

Villain -
1. You must prevent the Heroes from defeating Malak
2. You do NOT have to survive

Phases (The timing is subject to change)
Players will go through all phases once at each location (There are 6 locations). What these phases entail will depend on your affiliation. (More info on each phase will be given when that phase first occurs in-game.)

Phase I Character development
Hero/Neutral -
You will make a personal decision, based on location and the story progression, that will give you rewards (e.g. increased influence with Revan, increased combat ability, quest supplies).

Villain -
The villains can attempt to sabotage Heroes or Neutrals during this time. Sabotage could include destroying rewards, capturing the target, or even killing the target. If the heroes are at the same location as a Villain, that Villain will have more options to tamper with the Heroes.

Phase II Story Progression
Hero -
The group will have to take on a quest collectively, in an attempt to procure a Star Map. They will have 24 hours to do so. If they do not, they will suffer consequences, depending on evil player choices.

Neutral -
You can choose to help with the quest if you wish.

Villain -
The Villains will benefit if the Heroes fail.

Phase III Combat (Only applicable if there is a Villain at the location)
Hero -
You will engage in combat with the location's Villain and the Villain's forces. Combat is resolved when one team or another is completely eliminated.

Neutral -
You do not participate in combat. You may cheer.

Villain -
If you are the Villain of the location where the Party is currently, then you will direct your soldiers, and participate, in combat against the Heroes. Combat is resolved when one team or another is completely eliminated.

Phase IV Choices and Strategy
Hero/Neutral -
You may attempt to influence Revan's decisions on several matters by using any influence you've gained with him. You may influence him on a variety of things (e.g. what location to go to next, who to listen to in future decisions, or on matters of light and darkness).

Villain -
Every villain still alive will receive more soldiers. A villain can also transfer soldiers to another villain. It is recommended the Villains pay attention to the Party's discussion about their next location, so they can plan accordingly.

Combat
When in combat, each player may choose to either execute a ranged attack or melee attack.

-Ranged attacks allow the player to attack with less accuracy, but do more damage.
-Melee attacks allow for greater accuracy, but don't do extra damage.
-Some characters may have special attacks.

The side with less active combatants will go first. If the number of active combatants is equal on both sides, then each side has a 50% chance of going first.

Characters have basic HP (health points) and DMG (damage) stats. If a character successfully hits another, the victim loses HP equal to the attacker’s DMG. (e.g. Player 1 hits Player 2. Player 1 has 3 DMG. Player 2 loses 3 HP.)

If a character loses all their HP, they die.

ALRIGHTY! Now that you all have had that dumped on you, I hope you're brave enough to sign up! :) I'm hoping for at least 12-13, but the more, the better.

I trust you to make it a great game but am still a little bit confused, both the mafia games I've participated in have been simple, so we'll see. In.

*Blinks* Well, I'll try... I've never played Mafia on this forum before, but I have on other forums, and my little brother has here, so I should manage to survive. (In the physical world, I mean. In here... Who knows.)

If someone could make me a Mafia Pseudo-Mod so I could add the signed-up people, that'd be great XD

Just one more, guys! c'mon I know you can do it :) Be brave. This is an experiment! We can try it with 11, but I feel it would work best with 12 or more.

Very definitely in, although I've never played a mafia game before so I'm probably doomed to die a horrible death.

Alright! We have 14 as of now. Since the sign-up has been up for a few days, I'll allow until Friday at noon (EST) for any more sign-ups. RPMs will be sent out shortly thereafter and the first phase will start!

Thanks y'all for being willing to try this out. I hope we all have fun with it. :3

When I remember how to do this, it shall be done.

EDIT: Looks like someone else beat me to it. You should be good to go.

I see you have slots for 15. I have a limited amount of time, and generally don't play anymore, but if the game requires one more an no one else signs up, I'll play.
