I'll debate someone with my aff. If you're not in the RC, it's three cases all centered around wrongful convictions.

I have literally ZERO cards beyond my 1AC so it's not like you're going to have to work too hard make me nervous, haha.

I can start anytime.

I'd like at least three judges, but five would be super.

by Judges do you mean HSDer debaters? or adults?

Debating by posting speeches(you can have a while to prepare for) on a forum doesn't really appeal to me, so I'd rather not debate myself.

With vDebates generally the judges are HSD members be it debaters or coaches or alumni.

I would... but I have so much stuff going on right now. I might be able to judge if you can't get other people to.

I'll debate Drew.
Being a different league shouldn't affect online debates where you're researching on the fly anyway, right? :)

hey, quick question.

Could my partner and I treat this Vdebate thing like the real deal? ie, He's the 1A, im the 2A, im the 1N, he's the 2N...Could we debate as a team, or does it have to be one-on-one?

I have scanned the rules and couldn't really get an answer....

And the only example debate was one-on-one....

???

It can be two on two, two on one, or one on one.

Kenya debate as good as me?

I'm doing LD this year, I've never debated LD before, so I don't think I'd be much of a challenge, but I'd love to debate somebody if anyone was interested. I'd rather go Aff, because I'm further along in writing that case (I haven't known I was debating for very long...), but I still wouldn't be able to start for around 2 weeks or so.

Anyone interested?

EDIT: Post was incomplete, accidentally hit the submit button

I would like to debate somebody with my aff. Essentially, it abolishes the exclusionary rule and replaces it by treating 4th amendment violations as contempt of court, as advocated by this article.

I haven't done this before or anything, so if you want to change the rules or anything like that, that's fine with me.

And a judge or two would be nice, but really all I want is to debate. :)

Great, thanks!

I'll give any potential judges a day to sign up, and then post my 1AC tomorrow regardless.

So Zenith DC and I are going to do a round, and we where wondering if anyone would like to judge us. I will be Affirmative Zenith will be Negative.

How does this work? We've never done a V-debate before.

I've read through the rules thread...we'll be following the outline set up there, with the deadline for each speech or cx being one week after the previous speech. We're not going to be too strict with word count, as long as it's in the ballpark. I'm not sure when chaching wants to put his 1AC up...also, he would like to delete his 1AC immediately after the 2NC, so any judges who would like to keep a copy of it should probably get one right after he posts it. Chaching, do you mind if I start the thread now, or do you disagree with any of what I just said?

I'll judge. Andrew Bell, Verve/WA. I got 5th at NITOC last year. Paradigm is net benefits, although I'll listen to any warrants arguing that I should prefer any other criterion. I want voters and impact weighing in the final rebuttals. I enjoy straight-up debate the most, but I should be able to handle whatever theory you throw at me

What are the ethics of using sourcebook cards in VDebates?

Sourcebook cards are fine.

Also, I'll judge. My default paradigm is net benefits, but I'll vote on whatever you convince me of in-round. As for theory, go for it. :P As long as you justify it adequately, I'll buy it. One pet peeve: analysis-less arguments. Cards =/= arguments.
