Why is the bible quote button there on the option menu when you write a message? It seems little more than a link button to a Bible website. :?:

If one is in a heated debate on some particuarly polarizing Bible-related issue (for instance, predestination/free will), it is fairly common for participants to have memorized verses to support their position. Instead of either 1) having to Google the verse to get a link so other people can have easy access, or 2) pushing the burden onto the reader to look up the verse in their own Bible or online, the poster can use the Bible quick-link. It will auto-link references to scripture. For instance, the bbcode:
Code:
[bible]John 3:16[/bible]

produces the link John 3:16.

Similar shortcut tags exist for Wikipedia (NCFCA) and for the HSD wiki (Topicality).

Bingo. There is also a [scripture] tag that works the same way, but links to a different website.

Oh, ok. That makes sense. Thanks! :)
