1.Whatever background/history you're willing to share (that's pertinent)
Gah. Well, I'm fresh out of the wrapper. I joined like ten minutes ago. Anyway, I'm the son of Mexican immigrants. They're hardworking, and unfortunately, they think (I agree with them) that I am hopelessly lazy. Being Mexican, they are absolutely Catholic. They're set in their ways, and those ways are very much practical without the greed and heresy. I'm very much a product of their instruction, however much I try to fight it. Family is the primary driving force, and that in itself makes living as an adolescent in the US much more difficult. In our culture, the individual is the sum of the divergent members of his family. Family not in the American sense; it does not stop at the immediate. Cousins, uncles, even second cousins are included. This sets many restrictions on my activities, I am not expected or sometimes even allowed to hangout with friends, simply because there is no need, not when my family is already in one enclosed space. Wow, I'm sorry for the rant, but, it's pretty fundamental to my person.

2.Your current religious philosophy
Catholic with a few revisions. I'm very much a fan of Catholic-Christian Morality. God is still theoretical for me at this point. I have not experience consolation, I've recently found out that I don't believe in prayer, and as for Jesus...he was a cool dude who taught the world what it is to truly be human. So long as your life reflects the trial at being the best possible, you can feel free to RSVP heaven. There is no need to believe in him to live in him. He transcends religious limitations.

3.Your current political philosophy
Government is inherently corrupt. Which is fundamentally incongruous with my Catholicity (if that's a word). Human experience has shown this to be true. We are self-aware beings that lean to the selfish way too easily. That being said, I don't see a large scale governing body as one that can function in the community's best interest--in a global world, community as it's used here reflects that. The poor should be the chief priority, and thus, justice ensues.

4.Your goal in life
Aside from being happy...well, specifically, I want to find a special someone, I'm cool with waiting, but it would be nice to have a significant other.
To be a moral person, to embody justice, and to, hopefully, stop giving in to my more base urges when it comes to sexuality and generally temperance.
To lead a fun life.

1.Whatever background/history you're willing to share (that's pertinent)

My name is Keri Bailey; I'm seventeen years old. I was born and still live in beautiful Napa, CA. Yes, it's also known as the Wine Country. I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was five years old. I'm an animal lover, musician, composer, bookworm, and love my family that God has blessed me with. I've been homeschooled my entire life.

2.Your current religious philosophy

I am a Christian and believe in the Bible. And not just "parts" of the Bible, but the WHOLE Bible. And I also believe that every person has the right to draw their own conclusions from what the Bible says and to respect what others believe. I go to a non-denominational church. Being a "Baptist", or a "Calvinist", or a "Presbyterian" etc. reminds me of being in a clique, and 1) I hate cliques and think their dumb, and 2) Jesus wasn't in a clique - he loved, ministered, and accepted everyone, and the only requirements He expects from us is that we love, honor, believe, and follow Him - we get to heaven by faith alone, not religious rules or regulations.

3.Your current political philosophy

I'm not really politically knowledgeable, but I know right from wrong, and believe Justice should be done to those who do wrong. But we need to remember that we are all sinners, and God loves EVERYONE on this earth no matter what nationality they are or what color their skin is, or if their fat or skinny, or beautiful or ugly. God made everyone equal....(I guess I kind-of strayed from the real question there!)

4.Your goal in life

As of now.... I Timothy 4:12: "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." To love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, and mind. To tell others of His love for them.

Also, ahem, to become a professional Violinist. Yeah, big switch there!

I'm a homeschooled debater from Utah. While not hanging out with my friends or working on debate I enjoy beating people up (in a controlled sparing environment of course ;)), playing football and basketball, and thinking of new ways of world domination.

2.Your current religious philosophy
Christianity is the one true religion, but it shouldn't be forced on anyone. All religions have good and bad things about them. I might edit this later and post more.

3.Your current political philosophy
Libertarian. Government has absolutely no business in personal and private life. Government has no business printing fiat money. In a perfect world socialism would be perfect. If a crazy dictator wants to gas his own people America should let him, in the words of some Mexican guy "it no my problem man".

4.Your goal in life
Get through being homeschooled, go to college and lead a normal life. Go to law school and graduate. Get a hot wife. Make millions. Possibly become president.

1.Whatever background/history you're willing to share (that's pertinent)

I'm homeschooled and have competed in NCFCA for four years (this will be my fifth and last year). I enjoy debate, sports, exercise, music, (especially symphonic metal) and friends. :)

2.Your current religious philosophy

Christianity. There is no other worldview that logically accounts for rationality and human experience as well as providing a path of salvation for sinful humanity. Doctrinally, I'm a Calvinist. My preferred apologetic method is presuppositionalism. I have no firm opinion on the end times other than that God is control and whenever and however is fine with me. :)

3.Your current political philosophy

Constitutional constructionist, natural law conservative. Natural law is da' bomb and it comes directly from God. (See Locke, Blackstone, and Bastiat) The Constitution cannot be accurately interpreted without the natural law philosophy laid out in the Declaration of Independence. On fiscal issues, the government has overstepped its bounds in almost every conceivable way and it needs to be restrained. Immigration is, on the whole, a good thing for the economy and the government shouldn't intervene, unless it is stopping immigrants who have backgrounds as felons. On morality in government, I believe that government should uphold the maximum amount of freedom within the moral bounds set by God.

4.Your goal in life
Not sure. ;) Finish high school, go to college, and then probably pursue a legal/political career. An issue that I feel God might be leading me towards is fighting the abortion industry, but we'll see. Most importantly, I want to make a positive impact for Christ and help Americans realize the importance of natural law, limited government, and upholding moral obligations, as well as demonstrate the rationality of Christianity as a belief system.

1. Been in speech/debate for one year. I hate anything related to Halloween(I was raised that way). Homeschooled all my life. Oldest of 7 kids. Black biological father, white mother. All siblings are white. Love to argue about controversial issues. I like scary speeches/DI's.

2. I am a Christian. I believe God died on the cross for our sins, and that when we die we either go to heaven or hell--depending on who we admitted into our life. I am more towards a Protestant-charismatic Christian view. I believe in speaking in tongues as a form of prayer resulting from the the Holy Spirit. I don't expect to convince everyone/anyone within a few weeks to believe what I do, but hope to plant some kind of seed. I have a best friend that's an atheist.

3. I am a Conservative Republican. I hate the death penalty, though. Dislike illegal immigration. Hate abortion. Support the War in Iraq. Against gay marriages. I am not racist.

4. Whatever God calls me to do!

I'm former homeschooled, at west point , army bound, and can't wait.

2.Your current religious philosophy

I know good christians and bad ones. I'm a poor christian myself, but i really look up to some good christian examples I know in the military, and I work to sort things out as i go through life.

3.Your current political philosophy

Don't really give a [censored], probably won't vote in next elections, etc. I'm cynical politically as well.

4.Your goal in life

To be a complete badass, that and I really like the hooah military stuff. nothing better than leading a platoon of america's best.

1) Mexican and proud (viva Mexico cabrones). I was raised as a homeschooler in CA but I have basically broken off from that "image." I debated for 3 years before quitting. I am a proud student at the University of California, Berkeley and I am involved in organizations that recruit and retain Latino students on our campus since we currently make up only 12% of a student body of 25,000, thanks to Prop 209 and internalized racism towards low socioeconomic status populations and minorities.

2) My religious philosophy is Presbyterian Christian. I had taken a hiatus from the church but I have been slowly returning. In spite of my religious beliefs, I do lean far left in politics.

3) My political views are leftist Democrat, completely contrary to the way I was raised. I believe in amnesty for undocumented immigrants, affirmative action, the DREAM Act, AB540, and I plan on voting for Hilary Clinton (yes, I dare believe that a woman could be president).

4) my goals are to finish up here at Cal, go to graduate school for education, receive my PhD and try my best to restructure the public education system in CA to open the doors for poor and minority students to be able to go to college and succeed in life. To take away the internalized white supremacy and elitist thinking in our school system. Whether you agree with that or not, I don't really care. Its there and the time for change is now.

1. I was adopted when I was only a day old and raised as a pastor's kid in an extremely religious family with a seminary named after us. Most of my adopted relatives are theologians or pastors. I went to a private Christian school my first few years of life and then I was taken out of that school to begin home schooling. In high school, I was a debater with the Santa Clara Speech & Debate Club (Melan Jaich was awesome!). Now I'm finishing up my last year at UC Berkeley as a pure mathematics major with developing interests in economics and computer science. I work at the campus police department as Community Service Officer. We walk people home at night in Berkeley's dangerous urban environment and do other works of community service. I love my job. My username is 'javabeanz' because I am completely and hopelessly addicted to the coffee bean.

2. Definitely agnostic and very much skeptic. I still follow many Judeo-Christian values because they're socially acceptable and are aimed at creating a good society. I wouldn't consider myself Christian.

3. I would consider myself a Democrat. I will be voting for Hillary Clinton because I believe in what she stands for and I also want to see a woman in the Oval Office.

4. The most recent goal is becoming a Special Agent for the FBI. I'd also like to figure out whether I'm atheist or religious instead of constantly sitting on the fence of agnosticism.

1. I'm a half-adopted teenage girl. I've been in public school most of my life, and been through the worst of it. I was physically abused most of my life, therefore I cannot remember anything before the age of.. eh, 10 or 11. My biological mother was put in jail, therefore I came to live with my stepmom [who has now adopted me] and my dad. I'm now a charismatic Christian and am looking to stop others from getting to the point in life that I did. I'm much happier where I am now, and am happy I've turned my life around. I'm hopelessly white, though I wish I wasn't. =P I am blonde and have blonde tendencies, hopefully debate will help me cover this fact. This is my second year debating, I'm going to Nationals with my awesome partner.

2. I am a charismatic Christian; I believe Jesus died on the cross, we're going to heaven if you accept the fact, and I believe exactly what comes from the Bible.

3. Conservative.

4. Not sure yet. =]

I am supremely practical, and I think through (most) everything I do and say, unless is past 10 pm and/or I have consumed vast amounts of caffeine. Dead serious. Caffeine is the new alcohol. And it’s legal! Anyway…

2. Your current religious philosophy
I grew up in a Christian home, but did not make Christianity ‘my own’ until about a year ago. Since then, I have been racing to try to learn as much as I can about God, the universe, and everything.

3. Your current political philosophy
Being unable to completely identify with either side of the political spectrum, I place myself in the sort-of libertarian camp, placing great trust in both in the efficiency of small government and the implication of traditional Judeo-Christian principles in every particle of government principle.
I do not believed in the armed forces because, while I do believe God has abundantly blessed us and I am incredibly grateful to those who put their lives on the line for us whiners, I do not think the United States actually has anything worth fighting for. We are still the strongest nation in the world - but I don't know how long that can last without God.

4. Your goal in life
To make my faith real to myself and anyone around me, whatever I choose to do with my life.

So in summary, my background is uninteresting, my religious philosophy simple, my political philosophy confusing (thank goodness I don’t have to vote yet…) and my goal in life…also simple.

Although I don’t post much in the CC, I would like to be straightforward with everyone in advance.

:D

I suffered a huge culture change moving across the country. Literally. West coast to East. We hit the ground running, and I was shoved into the church and was expected to find friends and fit in right away. We also moved right at the begining of the school year. Within a week of getting into our house, I had nine subjects yelling at me.

2. Your current religious philosophy
I might as well post a creed. I am a Christian. More importantly, I am a Christian thinker. 8-) I know my Redeemer lives. :)

3. Your current political philosophy
Theology is more fun then politics, but I would identify myself with the conservatives.

4. Your goal in life
To be what He wants me to be.
And I'm still trying to figure out what that is.
What I want to do, is be in the music industry.

1. I' can't really think of anything BIG about my past. just a few facts/ I am the oldest of seven living children. I am homeschooled. I am/was raised a conservative Christian. I am a people person. Some might say a social butterfly without all the glitter..female...redhead.....and I can be quite random!!!

2. "religious" philosphy" ugh... don't have one!!! But i do have a worldview!! There is a right and a wrong to every dilemma, situation, etc. We humans just might not have the capacity to grasp it.
How i am/ was raised is still a significant part of my thinking however it does not rule my perspective.I believe that God created the world and everything in it, as explained in Genesis 1.
Also believe that Christians should not severe the OT from the NT. Therefore i use/ practice a few of the "laws" from the Pentateuch. ( the first five books of the Old Testament--Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuternonomy)

3. "philosophy" A form of government?? how i respond to gov types?? greatly confused...oh well..
no government is perfect because of the fall. (see genesis 3)

political party-I do not like how the Republicans nor the Democrats have handled things..however in respect to my parents i am affiliated with the GOP.. i might or might not vote on party lines..that still remains to be seen.

4. the Westminister Catechism says that the chief end of man(loosely used) is to glorify God. At the moment i am in the process of graduating from high school. I am looking into a "career" in Social Work as a part of service.

Well though my name is neither Gregory nor Grumm, while I am on the Controversy corner you may call me Grumm.

1. I'm a teenager, have been involved with NCFCA (and CFC) for two or three years. I've moved often in my life, though I am not very old.

2. Reformed.

3. Libertarian.

4. To glorify God, whatever that means, in every situation.
