I use Extemp Buddy Alpha. How many people would be interested in paying $15 instead of $25?

Also, does Extemp Genie search through the article text itself for words or only the article title?

How well does Extemp Buddy Alpha work for you? And what kind of a program is it? I'm really happy with Extemp Genie and already paid my $25, but EBA might be something for my other club mates to look into.

Extemp Genie searches both in the article itself and the article titles. Super handy.

Extemp Buddy is an initiative started by my older brother and I. Currently it's still in Alpha testing with me being the only tester. It downloads every CNN article published in the last however much time you want and saves them as .html documents that are opened directly in your web browser, even when offline. You should see the funny looks that I get when I'm browsing Firefox in the prep room. :D

It's so limited right now because it has no user interface and only does CNN. This is because my brother has only put about 30 minutes of work into it. But if I can gather some support and give him a bit more incentive to work on it..... ;)

You realize you are advertising for your own product in your competitor's thread right?

Extemp Genie 1.5.5 is out. The Brookings Institute, Forbes, and Aljazeera America are all available in the new version, along with multiple bug fixes and a few other new features.

In order to access past articles from these new sources you'll need to sync the past 3 months of articles again. Feel free to cancel syncing after the new sources finish, which will save you some time as there is no need to re-download sources you have already synced.

Google Chrome should update your Extemp Genie over the next few weeks, but you can manually upgrade now by following these steps. First, open the Settings page from the menu in the top right corner of Chrome. Then, click the "Extensions" item on the left hand side. Click the "Developer Mode"' check box in the top right of the page. After hitting the "Update All Extensions Now" button you will be good to go.

Hello, this is Ethan Reeves the developer of Extemp Genie.

Extemp Genie is currently supported on Chromebooks, Windows, Mac, and Linux. An iPad app is not currently available.

If anyone has any more questions feel free to ask them here or you can contact me at extempgenie@gmail.com

The new sources are:
- CNN

- The Diplomat
- Politico
- The Washington Post

PLEASE NOTE: Current, active users who purchased before August 4 will need to transition to the new system. To learn how visit https://extempgenie.com/transition

Hi,
The new version looks great!
I am planning to purchase it.
Could you add the Council on Foreign Relations and Foreign Affairs as well?
Thanks!

I have a question about Extemp Genie. How much memory does it take up on a laptop?

A fully synced, three month database takes up roughly 0.5 gigabytes of disk space.

In about a week I will be releasing a new version with five additional sources and a slew of other improvements.

I'd also like to conduct a informal poll here. If you could add one feature to Extemp Genie, what would it be?

Consistent highlights and graphs included in articles.
I really wish CFR, Foreign Affairs, and Forbes was included because I often file those. (If it is possible)
Maybe an ability to choose the default category for the search function? (Relevance, Source diversity)
Oh, and the "sync all new" button.
Sometimes there are duplicate articles because I don't sync exactly a week later.
This was way more than one... :D
Anyway, Thanks!

I would suggest adding the Daily Signal to the source list.
