When I read the original article here http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle ... story.html her message seemed to be more of an encouragement to parents of special-needs children to not worry about single bumps in the road of progress. Perhaps the tagline of the article could be offensive, if someone chose to take it that way, but when in context I don't see it as offensive.

Didn't say it was offensive. "Offensive" is a pretty slippery and empty charge, at any rate. Mostly it made me smile.
