Hi, this is my first year in STOA, and I'm doing Apolegetics. I'm just wondering if you're allowed to look at your cards during your speech(after prep time). I really hope we are 'cause there's no way I can get one card memorized!

Um...that's the point of having the cards. You're supposed to reference the cards during your speech. Although try to commit to memory as much of your card as you can, as you aren't supposed to read your card. :)

Hm? If I'm not supposed to read them during the speaking portion of my speech, what's the point of looking at them? xD Sorry about my lack of knowledge!

Wait--do you mean that you can hold them and look at them, but you're not supposed to like read the whole thing as you say it? So like, I can look at it every so often, but don't rely on it?

What Evan is trying to say is that you should try not to be looking at your card the whole time. :)

Yes, you may use your cards during your speech. You can have as much (or as little) on them as you want. But that doesn't mean it's a good idea to write an entire 6 minute speech word-for-word on your cards. It's probably better to have an outline :) and to speak from that. It's a skill that's learned with practice!

But to answer your question once again... yes. You may take your cards up with you to speak. And you may look at/read from them during your speech. :)
