Hm? If I'm not supposed to read them during the speaking portion of my speech, what's the point of looking at them? xD Sorry about my lack of knowledge!
What Evan is trying to say is that you should try not to be looking at your card the whole time.
Yes, you may use your cards during your speech. You can have as much (or as little) on them as you want. But that doesn't mean it's a good idea to write an entire 6 minute speech word-for-word on your cards. It's probably better to have an outline
and to speak from that. It's a skill that's learned with practice!
But to answer your question once again... yes. You may take your cards up with you to speak. And you may look at/read from them during your speech.
