"Analyze and respond to the following statement: 'The story of Ulysses and Agamemnon and Menelaus, of Jesus, of the Good Knight of Chaucer, lives in every one of us.' James Lee Burke

Thus question was very confusing to me and I have absolutely no idea what to do with it. I looked up the names and I found out a lot about Greek mythology, but it wasn't very helpful to finding out what to do with this card. Please help! Thanks and God bless. :D

There are a couple of ways to address this. First of all, don't get caught up in the immensity of the list. Use them to drive your speech forward instead of trying to address them all individually.

The statement can be interpreted two ways that I can see: (1) that there is a universal story being told that lives in us all, which is arguably true. (2) that Jesus can be equated with or is even in the same category as the others listed here. Personally, I think Burke, being a bestselling author of fiction, probably sees the world as a giant story. On the surface, there is nothing wrong with that. However, Jesus is not just a fable, He's real, and His story is something that is true and must be taken seriously.

Let me know if that helps. ;)
